She began practicing veterinary medicine in California before moving to Portland in 2007 where she founded a veterinary practice. Dr. Nell has worked with a wide variety of animal species and continues to practice at Lombard Animal Hospital where she leads the integrative medicine program. Dr. Nell lectures and teaches nationally and internationally on the various aspects of veterinary acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, including food therapy. Earlier this year, Dr. Nell became a fellow of the American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncture, an honor given to only 27 people. Her mission is to promote integrative medicine, the combination of Western medicine with complimentary alternative treatments, as a standard of care for pets at the global level.
