Anyone who has loved a pet knows what joy it is to have them in our lives. They bring boundless joy and love and we find ourselves naturally wanting to reciprocate all the joy and love back to them. And when we lose them, young or old, the hurt is real and the pain is intense. It never seems to ever go away entirely.

I learned last night that we lost one in my circle. Bailey, just six years old, ingested part of a toy that required intestinal surgery. Unfortunately, it was just too late for Bailey. Bailey and my dog were siblings so the loss cuts deep to me. We were family. Gone are the days of watching Bailey running playfully with my dog. Gone are the days of seeing his sweet smile upon being greeted at the door.

Hug your fur babies now and everyday as if it were your last together, for you never know.

In loving memory of Bailey Jarone 9/17/2010-10/9/2016
